Welcome to Janelle’s Blog

With the help of friends we have created this site to better communicate with you, our friends and family.  We continue to request your prayers as Janelle begins an aggressive regimen of both radiation and chemo therapy.  From time to time we will post updates, and will send you an e-mail with the link to this site when we do.  Feel free to use the site to communicate back to us (click Comments below).  If you'd rather communicate more privately, please feel free to keep the e-mails coming — they have been a huge encouragement to us in the last several weeks!

I am sitting here at work with the tears streaming down my face as I view the pictures with you having the most beautiful smile I have ever seen and as I rread your incredible words of inspiration! God is indeed GOOD!! I am finding that my thoughts are more often in Charlotte than in Indiana as I try to continue with my daily stuff but constantly wondering what is happening there with you guys. I know you have an awesome group of friends and neighbors who are being very supportive and helpful but I want to be there too! Even though I can’t be with you as much as I would like I am walking this journey with you every step of the way. Love ya, love ya, love ya, …. your middle sis

    Dear Janelle,
I have laughed and cried my way through your site. We don’t know each other, but we are sisters in Christ. I am a neighbor of the Bullard family in Naperville and know several of the families from your old church. When Lisa told me about you, I began to pray. One day as I was driving , the song “Held” came on the radio. Not knowing what you look like, images of you filled my mind and I felt sure that God was in fact “holding” you and that you felt his embrace. You will be in my prayers .
Gods promise in Isiah 43 is so comforting, isn’t it? You’re right… God IS good. All the time.

    Dear Janelle,

You’ve been in my prayers and will continue however long this journey is. HE is right beside you all the way. Step by Step. HIS MERCY ENDURES FOREVER. God bless you my dear child.

    Your Sister In Christ,
    Sue Rimbo

    Hi Janelle,

You don’t know me but I am a friend of your awesome sister, Connie- we are in bible study together. I just want you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers since the moment Connie told us what was happening. You see, I have 3 boys as well and your story really hit home for me. God really layed a burden upon my heart for you. I don’t know how many times I have awoken in the middle of the night thinking of you and your family and feeling God lead me to get out of bed to pray for you. Our God is a God of wonders and miracles. From everything Connie has told me about you, you seem like just a wonderful person and I almost feel like I know you. May God cradle you in his arms and continue to renew and restore you in a way that only HE can. God bless you and you will continue to be in my prayers.

  8. Denise Christen Says:

    Jan,

I haven’t seen you or talked to you in years, but you can be sure that I am praying for you and your family daily. Ever since I have known you, your faith has been something to be admired. It is amazing to see how God has kept you and your family over the years. Sometimes during our storms we just have to “Be still, and know that I am God” as Psalms 46:10 says. It is obvious that God has been with you through out this storm in your life. Your family is lucky to have such a great person in their lives. Keep your faith strong and your eyes on Him, and He will lead down the path that He has chosen for your and your family.

  9. Sandy Says:

    Janelle,
I work with your sister Connie, who has been a continual support to me in this last year. She has shared your story with me!!
You have been such an inspiration during this battle. I have no doubt you will continue to do that. God has made you a very strong and faithful person through past events. I also have a child with special needs, who is a huge blessing. They are God’s gift given to us for a reason. I don’t begin to say that I know God’s intentions, but I believe he will keep you here to continue the work that you have started.

Please know that you are in my prayers continually. I am praying for all of your family and know that God is with you.
You know that he changed the report from stage 4 to NOT stage 4!!!!!!!!

You are living as he has asked. To show faith and love DURING the trials and not just after we get the answers.

May you feel God’s arms around you and your family in the next 6 weeks.

    Love and prayers from Indiana,
    Sandy Montgomery

  10. Debra Durm Says:

I am a friend of Carlos at his school and he has talks very lovingly about you and your family. I want you to know we are thinking about you and have high hopes that things will work out. I am a nurse and was so glad to hear that you were at a stage three instead of a four. I lit a candle for you at church and will continue to do so every Sunday. Take care.

  11. Jill Says:

    Janny Rae,
Have been thinking of you non stop today (as every day) and praying that your first radiaiton treatment went well. I so much wish I could be there with you every step of the way. (Indiana feels so far away) You know all you have to do is say the word and I will be there!! It was amazing news to hear your cancer is a stage 3 instead of a stage 4 – that is an answer to prayer no doubt about it. Dad and I are going to Rich’s memorial today so will be a hard day. In case you did not know the message from Denise Christen is my friend Denise from college. Your web site is getting great responses – it was really a great idea!! I look forward every day to checking up on the latest news and entries. I love you and your boys so much! Hugs & kisses to all. Jill

  12. Mel Says:

    Hey Sis!
What great news today & how good to talk to you on the phone before your treatment. I am really glad you were able to get the blog set up. I am wanting to call you every day but don’t want to keep you burdened with constant phone calls & repeating things over & over. It’s interesting to see we sisters all feel the same way. Charlotte seems half-way across the world. I really want to come see you again soon but not until you are ready. It was so good to be there for your surgery & see that God really has his people everywhere and that you are receiving such wonderful support from your neighbors & church family. That was a concern before I came since you have not been there so long. Now I know you are well supported and I have less worry. How I hate it that you have to go thru this but trust God knows exactly what he’s doing. What courage you have shown! I am sharing with everyone I know who knows how to pray. I am constantly being asked how you are doing. You are constantly in my thoughts & prayers. I want you to know that you DO NOT MEET HOSPICE CRITERIA. Don’t even think that’s on my mind. Call me any time, day or night. I’m here for you, love you all.

  13. Connie Says:

Wow…398 hits in only a few days. Soon you will need to hire a fan club manager if this keeps up! Don’t let your head get to big on us (ooh, sorry..sick tumor humor) You said you didn’t want us getting all mushy….
Hope you and Yvonne had a great day in spite of your first treatment. It’s great she could be there to support you on your first day.
We found out yesterday Ken has to have knee surgery next Wednesday…. so remember him on that day.
Be checking in on you again tomorrow. Try REAllY hard to get a good night’s rest!
    XO,XO,XO
    Connie

    Jan,
We have been eagerly waiting to hear news and updates on how you are doing. This site is a great way for us to do that. Mom told me about it on my way to school today. It is good to hear that you are doing so well after your first treatments. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Becca faithfully prays for her Aunt Jan every night before bed. We love you and wish you continued peace as you continue to fight this battle. We will be thiniking of you as Jake begins school next week.
